Iconic Pub, Live Music & Coastal Vibes

With a history dating back to 1856, the Cleveland Sands Hotel has long been a central part of Cleveland’s vibrant social scene. Originally operating as a boarding house under the management of John Cassim, the venue catered to families and invalids seeking a coastal retreat. It later evolved into the Raby Bay Hotel, named after the Duke of Cleveland, reflecting the area’s rich heritage.

The hotel has undergone several transformations over the years. Cassim moved on to open Cassim’s Hotel, which served the community for over 60 years before severe storms led to its closure. In 1930, a new Raby Bay Hotel was built in the town’s center, and in 1959, the Roberts family renamed it the Cleveland Sands Hotel, cementing its place as a local institution.

Today, the Cleveland Sands Hotel is known for its lively entertainment, coastal-inspired dining, and relaxed atmosphere. The bistro serves up fresh seafood and modern pub classics, making it a great spot for casual catch-ups, group gatherings, or a laid-back meal with family and friends.

Live music is at the heart of the Cleveland Sands experience. From emerging local bands to some of Australia’s most popular touring acts, the hotel’s diverse entertainment lineup ensures there’s always something happening.

With a spacious beer garden, a sports bar that transforms into a nightclub on weekends, and a buzzing atmosphere, the Cleveland Sands Hotel is the place to be for great food, live music, and good times in the heart of Cleveland.
